Let Everything that Breathes Praise God!
This meditation is based on a passage for March 20, 2011 in the Daily Lectionary Year 1 from the Book of Common Worship for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) (1993).
Text: Psalm 150
Reflection and Question: Every year, my elementary school had a Thanksgiving program on the half day before the holiday. Each class had the same part every year. I cannot remember which class I was in, but I do remember when it was my turn to memorize and recite Psalm 150.. It is a poem of sheer praise of God, speaking in general terms of God’s greatness and of musical forms of praise. It is short and sweet — just right for young children, but not just for them. We all do well to have such praise ready in our minds. For what good, and with what, do you praise God?
Praise God with trumpet sound; praise God with lute and harp!
Let everything that breathes praise God! Amen.
